This language lesson is designed for parents to know their 6 to 9-year-old child with the help of activities.
Maria Montessori talked about four planes of child development according to the age groups. This lesson deals with children of the second plane, i.e., a 6-12-year-old who have many questions in mind about the world and things around them.
As parents, we need to satisfy their intellectual order, sense of morality, and imagination.
To stimulate the imagination of a child, Dr. Maria Montessori once said that “the adult should become a storyteller of the truth.” The elementary child is curious about the universe, has a vivid imagination, and could develop gratitude quite naturally. Factors to be Considered while Planing Activities for 6-9 Years Old
Consider these factors when planning activities for 6- to 9-year-old children.
1. Give them the keys to the universe – Providing them the right kind of materials to trench their thirst for knowledge. For example, if a child is curious to know about dinosaurs, then give them an encyclopedia.
2. Help them to learn themselves- show them the ways to get their answers
3. Let them work in groups to find out what is right and what is wrong
Encourage the child’s self-confidence and self-esteem by recognizing their strengths and appreciating their work.

First, write down one-word actions which the child can do- hop, sing, clap, snap, sleep, etc. include a few Transitive verbs like- shut, close, find, etc. This activity will make them ask- “Close what?” That is your cue to explain that these verbs require an object and are called transitive verbs. The others are intransitive.
