This math lesson is designed for 6 to 12-year-old children and guides them to make their own checkboard.
The checkerboard is a traditional material used to teach long and short multiplication to the children. It is divided into families of hundreds, thousands, and millions. It is a fun and creative way of learning and practicing the operations of multiplication on multiple digits.
Materials Required
1. A piece of cardboard
2. Ruler
3. Cardstock – green, blue, red, white, and grey
4. Markers – green, blue, red, and black
5. Scissors
6. Glue/ Double-sided tape
7. Color pencils
8. Pencil and eraser
9. Graph paper
Guide the child to make their own checkerboard, as shown in the video, and help them get a better understanding of the math concepts.
