What is Capitalization?
Capitalization is the writing of a word with its first letter in uppercase and the remaining letters in lowercase. It has 7 rules to follow. Let us learn about capitalization Rule 4.
Capitalization Rule # 4
The fourth rule of capitalization states that names of cities, countries, nationalities and languages follow the capitalization rule.
For example:
- Sanskrit is the mother of many languages, including English
- His mother is Indian, and his father is American.
- The capital of India is Delhi.
Here, Sanskrit and English are languages whereas Indian and American are nationalities. As per rule #4 of capitalization; they begin with a capital letter. India and Delhi are names of countries and cities therefore they also follow capitalization rule #4
This capitalization worksheet will help the child to practice correcting sentences based on rule 4 of capitalization.
How to Practice the Capitalization Practice Worksheet?
